I've always been known as the optimist of the group. But what exactly is optimism? Well, the definition on Wikipedia says "Optimism is an attitude reflecting a belief or hope that the outcome of some specific endeavor, or outcomes in general, will be positive, favorable, and desirable." But in simple words optimism is just finding good even in some not-so-good times. We all know it's the right thing to do but often we find that it is the hardest thing to do. People sometimes ask me how I find humor and positivity in the most serious and agonizing times. And I always recall a poem by Mother Theresa.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
For you see in the end it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway.
This is my secret to happiness. My secret to finding the perfect things in life and finding joy in the most wearisome times.
